Katushabe Deo Silver is a Ugandan professional with over 15 years of experience in humanitarian work, project management, and human resource development. Born in Western Uganda, Deo family fled the Rwandan genocide in 1992 and resettled in Mbarara after their home was destroyed during a bombing. Despite these early challenges, he remained resilient and dedicated himself to building a career rooted in service and transformation.

Deo holds a master’s degree in management science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Uganda Management Institute. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and social administration from Uganda Christian University and has completed specialized training in Trauma Counselling and Business Administration.

His expertise spans a wide range of development and humanitarian sectors, including public health, protection, food security, livelihoods, education, WASH, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS programming. Throughout his career, he has worked to both local and international organizations, such as, International Rescue Committee as Consortium Manager, Medical Teams International as Field Coordinator, Action Africa Help Uganda as HIV & AIDS Focal Person, Self Help Africa as Field Development Officer and Impact Oasis as Program Director.   

Deo currently serves as Administration Director at Planning for Tomorrow (P4T), where he continues to leverage his leadership experience to drive impactful humanitarian initiatives across refugee and host communities. Deo brings a wealth of skills, including strategic team leadership, crisis management and emergency response, program and project design, monitoring, and implementation.
