Khalid is an education leader and refugee advocate who turned personal tragedy into a mission: proving that refugee children can achieve extraordinary things when given the proper support. Khalid was just nine years old when he lost his father in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A year later, in 1997, he arrived in Uganda to seek asylum. Everything changed overnight. He had to learn in English instead of French, all while grieving his father and processing the trauma of displacement. But Khalid didn't let his circumstances hold him back. He worked hard and became the top student in both primary and secondary school. His success proved something powerful: you don't need a fancy, well-resourced school to excel. What you need is determination and the proper support.

After graduating, Khalid returned to his former secondary school to teach physics and mathematics. He used his own story to inspire students facing similar struggles. He earned a bachelor's degree through a DAFI Scholarship and landed a job as an Assistant Statistics Officer in Kampala. On paper, he had made it. But something was missing. In 2013, Khalid returned to Kyangwali to focus on what truly mattered: community service through P4T, the organisation he had co-founded back in 2007. Khalid and his co-founders knew that real change required quality education.

In May 2015, they opened P4T Nursery and Primary School with just 26 learners. Today, P4T schools serve over 1000 children annually across nursery, primary, and secondary levels. The schools consistently produce top performers in national examinations and are now recognised as some of the best in Kyangwali, with full licensing from Uganda's Ministry of Education, a UNEB Centre Number and a UNEB Sitting Centre. Khalid earned a second DAFI Scholarship for his master's studies. Once again, he finished at the top of his class and received the Chancellor's Best Research Award. He now uses his expertise in statistics to ensure P4T operates with data-driven decision-making, rigorous impact measurement, and transparent financial management.

As the Executive Director, Khalid oversees all of P4T's operations in Uganda: education programs, health initiatives, livelihood training for youth and women, and protection services for the most vulnerable. His leadership focuses on three things: academic excellence without compromise, holistic support that removes barriers to learning, and community ownership that ensures sustainability.
